About Us
Since 2009, Learn English Together in Merton (formerly Merton Home Tutoring Service) have been providing free English lessons to adults living in and around the London borough of Merton.
Lessons are offered to learners in their own homes or in our group classes, which follow the ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) curriculum. We are a small independent charity.
We offer lessons for people who are not able to get to formal college classes, because of cost, family situation or disability and who may become isolated at home.

Matrix Accreditation
In June 2022, Merton Home Tutoring Service (now called Learn English Together in Merton) successfully and proudly gained Matrix Accreditation for delivering high quality information and guidance to our learners. The independent assessor reviewed many of our processes and procedures and interviewed 2 partner organisations, 12 staff and volunteers and 17 LET learners. To read the interview our Director Heidi Shrimpton gave, about our experience and learnings around Matrix Accreditation, please click here. The accreditation is renewed annually following a successful meeting with an assessor. In June 2023 our accreditation was renewed for a further year.
